Accompanying Integration Process
_Strategic consulting of managing board and project team
_Formats for integration of employees
_Moderation of workshops and barcamps
Background
With the integration of two successful universities belonging to the Klett Group, a large management university with over 3,000 students and 250 employees in the faculty and administration at 7 locations is to be created under the umbrella of the CBS International Business School. The Cologne-based CBS is an internationally oriented private business school into which the EUFH's management division with its dual and part-time study programs will now be integrated. In the future, the EUFH will focus on the fields of health and social affairs. For the internal project entitled "zusammen.wachsen" (growing together), a period of around 7 months is scheduled from the announcement of the integration to the formal transition at the beginning of 2022.
Task
External accompanying and moderation of "zusammen.wachsen":
_Integration of employees in the constitution of a new structure and process organization
_Merging and further development of the product portfolio
_Rolling out the overall strategy through the implementation of target-oriented working groups and workshops
_Coordinating and advising the project group in weekly jour-fixes
_Supporting regular internal communication with all employees
Solution
Development and implementation of participatory formats along the roadmap (21/06-22/01):
_Staff Barcamp 1 on the question "How do we want to be together in the future?"
_14 workshops (partly online, partly face-to-face) in the thematic blocks of faculty, marketing & sales, administration and overarching themes
_Staff Barcamp 2 ("half-time") to present the organizational chart, status of content integration and collection of questions and opinions
_Virtual Welcome 2022: One-hour round-table discussion by the management board to welcome all employees after the formal transition
Result as an anonymous opinion poll among employees:
_approx. 75% agree: "From my point of view, growing together has been successful so far". (Cultural integration)
_approx. 84% agree: "The most important issues have been identified and are being addressed. (Content integration)
_approx. 72% agree: "I find myself in the organization and feel comfortable with it. (Structural integration)
Quote
"Overall, it can be said that we have achieved a high level of acceptance. Compared to many other change projects, this performance of the project team can be described as outstanding. We are far from finished with our further development, but we have set some important milestones. Ralph has supported and accompanied us very well with his constructively critical view from the outside, his dramaturgically always fitting scripts and his perspective- and method-rich moderation."
