Markhof

Background

St. Josefshaus supports people with disabilities with around 1,500 employees at 15 locations and can look back on a history of almost 150 years. St. Josefshaus underlines its market position in the region of Lörrach and the surrounding area with the "Great Place to Work®" certificate. At the historically grown location "Markhof", it operates residential homes, workshops and support areas for 120 people with disabilities. At the same time, the exceptional scenic location also offers attractive prospects for tourism, leisure and recreation. In addition, there are interests of tenants of agricultural land, such as Bioland farmers. With the start of the urban planning overhaul, the future course is being set to holistically transform the Markhof into an inclusive place full of diversity

Task

The Markhof needs a clear positioning and a unifying, unique identity: What should it stand for as a brand or as a "home" for all local people? Where do those involved want to develop it further together - also in dialogue with the neighbouring communities - in order to use all potentials and synergies and to communicate them even better?

Solution

In the first workshop with the decision-makers, strategic questions about the positioning of the Markhof are condensed. In the follow-up workshop, representatives of all interest groups involved, including the municipalities, develop and discuss content-related wishes, ideas, images of the future and concrete measures for this. The resulting communication concept by ebene c with goals, target groups, core messages and initial measures enables the Markhof project team to accompany the development of the neighbourhood with operational work packages such as press relations, image and information brochures, website etc.
